Taylor Swift has come to “Ladies Like Ladies” singer Hayley Kiyoko‘s protection after some followers criticized the latter over feedback she made in regards to the pop star.
In an interview with Refinery 29, Kiyoko, mentioned, “I’ve had a number of music trade execs say, ‘You are doing one other music video about ladies?’ I actually checked out them and was like, um, yea…Taylor Swift sings about males in each single music and video, and nobody complains that she’s unoriginal.’ I am not over-sexualizing my music. I make out with girls as a result of I really like girls, not as a result of I am attempting to be attractive. That is to not flip heads—that is my life.”
Some followers interpreted Kiyoko’s remarks as shade in the direction of Swift.
The pop star responded to the feedback and the criticism on Tumblr.
“We must always applaud artists who’re courageous sufficient to inform their sincere romantic narrative via their artwork, and the actual fact is that I’ve by no means encountered homophobia and he or she has,” Swift mentioned. “It is her proper to name out anybody who has double requirements about homosexual vs straight love pursuits.”
